Ant Man

Real Name: Hank Pym

Scientist Hank Pym is one of the smartest men on the planet, specializing in biochemistry. He is a man of science, and never intended to become a Super Hero, but adventure tends to find him. Outfitted with his cybernetic helmet, the microbiologist Hank Pym can communicate with inselcts and shrink himself to microscopic scale as Ant-Man

When he shrinks, Ant-man retains the strength of a full-sized man. His strength increases proportionately when he grows; at his full 20-foot height he possesses super strength and durability.

His astonishing "Pym Particles" allowed microbiologist Hank Pym to explore the world in ways he never imagined. He has also imbued the Wasp with the same ability to shrink, adding a pair of subcutaneous wings that appear when she reduces in size. He also probably is behind her ability to fire bio-electric blasts, but that has yet to be confirmed.

Hank Pym is a pacifist and believes in the rehabilitation of criminals, a philosophy which lead him to resign from the Avengers at the end of Season One, his participation in the liberation of Asgard from Loki notwithstanding.

Black Panther

Real Name: T'Challa

The Black Panther is the King of the African kingdom of Wakanda, and the inheritor of the mantle of the Black Panther.

Secretive and distrustful (like all Wakandans) of the outside world, the Black Panther first sought out the Avengers after the death of his father and usurpation of his kingdom at the hands of the Man-ape. Asking the Avengers for assistance, the Black Panther defeated the Man-Ape in single combat, and reclaimed his throne.

T'Challa is a brilliant scientist and clever tactician. The Wakanda Council of Elders manages his kingdom during his absence as a member of the Avengers.

Thanks to the legacy of the sacred heart-shaped herbs, the Black Panther has enhanced senses, strength, and speed, and is a highly-trained warrior. His uniform is laced with vibranium, which absorbs energies and kinetic impact, giving him heightened durability as well. The vibranium claws of his costume allow him to scale walls like his namesake. The Black Panther is armed with a variety of vibranium weapons - throwing daggers, cutting blades, and a collapsable staff.

Captain America

Real Name: Steve Rogers

During World War II, the scrawny Steve Rogers volunteered for the military, and was rejected as physically unfit for service. He was offered, and accepted, a chance to be a test subject in a secret scientific procedure dubbed OPERATION: REBIRTH. This top-secret program was designed to boost the test subject to near-superhuman health and abilities using the Super-Soldier Formula. OPERATION REBIRTH was successful, and Captain America was born; unfortunately, a Nazi assassin killed Doctor Emile Erskine, the creator of the process, whch was lost with his death.

Captain America, with his partner, Bucky Barnes, and aided by other brave soldiers like Sergeant Fury and his Howling Commandos, would take the fight to the Nazis and their elite organization, Hydra, run by the perfidious Baron Zemo, the Red Skull, and Lieutenant Wolfgang Von Strucker.

It was in trying to prevent the escape of the Red Skull that Captain America found himself falling from the booby-trapped escape craft of the Red Skull. He plunged into the icy waters, and was frozen - perfectly preserved due to the Super-Soldier Formula of Dr. Erskine's - until the Avengers, while searxching for the Hulk, discovered his body and shield encased in ice.

Cap on Ice

The Avengers thawed out and revived Captain America, a man decades out of his own time, struggling to fit into the modern world. A master tactician, an expert hand-to-hand combatant, he and his indestructiblel shield (made of a unique Vibranium alloy) are the heart and fighting spirit of the Avengers!

Captain America's indestructable shield was shattered by Loki while channeling the Odin Force.

After returning to Earth after the Avengers liberated the Asgardian Nine Realsm from Loki's conquest, Captain America was rendered unconscious by a Skrull agent, who then took his place.

Hawkeye

Real Name: Clint Barton

Clint Barton was raised in a carnival, where he learned his marksmanship, and myriad other shady skills, like lockpicking.

SHIELD trained him to be an expert sharpshooter, but Hawkeye prefers to show off his keen marksmanship skills with a simple bow. Armed with an array of high-tech arrows, Hawkeye was teamed with the Black Widow as part of the SHIELD special agent program until the Black Widow framed Hawkeye as a traitor to cover her own activities. While Hawkeye was on the run from SHIELD, he proved his worth during the Leader's attempt to remake the world as a gamma radiation wasteland. Hawkeye successfully cleared his name with SHIELD, but rather than rejoin the organization, chose to remain with the Avengers.

Hulk

Real Name: Bruce Banner

Scientist Bruce Banner was exposed to incredibly high levels of gamma radiation, which caused anger and adrenaline to mutated him into the Hulk, a creature possessed of enormous strength and durability. The angrier Hulk gets, the stronger he gets. Mistaken for a mindless monster in his first exposures to humanity, the Hulk has been relentlessly pursued by the special military unit known as the Hulkbusters, commanded by General Thunderbolt Ross, who has become obsessed with destroying the Emerald Avenger.

Those who mistake the Hulk for a monster fail to understand that beneath that brutish exterior beats the heart of a hero. As Captain America told the Hulk during their battle against Hydra and A.I.M., the Hulk always tries to do the right thing - which in Captain America's book makes him a hero, not a monster.

Iron Man

Real Name: Tony Stark

Billionaire genius inventor and heir to the Stark Industries munitions fortune, Tony Stark become Iron Man when kidnapped by enemy combatants, and forced at gunpoint to make a suit of battle armor. Escaping from them in his new armor, Stark has since become Iron Man in order to partially make up for the deaths caused by his former weapons development.

Iron Man founded the Avengers and modified the Maria Stark Mansion to function as the Avengers' base of operations as the Avengers Mansion, providing them with the Avengers IDenticards as well as the Avengers' special aircrafts, the Quinjets.

* His inventions and business have made him a billionaire. Many of his inventions have been licensed to SHIELD.
* Stark has created multiple suits of high-tech armor, with different special capabilities for different kinds of missions.

* Tony has integrated J.A.R.V.I.S.' artificial intelligence into his armor as well as the Avengers' mansion systems, Quinjets and ID cards

Thor the Thunderer

Real Name: Thor Odinsson

Thor is the Norse God of Thunder, and feels a deep connection and obligation to protect the mortals of Earth, which the Asgardians call Midgard.

Thor possesses extraordinary strength and durability, and is the finest warrior of Asgard, reknowned for his prowess against the Frost Giants of Jotunheim in particular. Thor possesses command of lighting and storms, and is the master of the mystic uru hammer Mjolnir, which always returns to him when thrown. Like many Asgardians, Thor can form dimensional portals to Asgardian realms.

Thor's father is Odin, the ruler of Asgard. He is the adoptive brother of Loki. His close Asgardian friends include Balder the Brave, Heimdall, the Lady Sif, Fandral the Blade, Hogun the Grim, and Volstagg the Valorous.

Thor has recently begun a romantic relationship with Jane Foster, a mortal paramedic.

Wasp

Real Name: Janet Van Dyne

Janet Van Dyne is a wealthy socialite, but found greater fulfilment in supporting the scientist Hank Pym in his work, handling the routine of business so that he can focus on his experiments. The Wasp can shrink to a tiny size, sprouting wings as she does so to give her flight. She is also able to fire powerful bioenergy blasts from her hands. When the villain Whirlwind tried to steal a sample of the rare metal vibranium from Hank Pym's lab, the Wasp flew after him, and together Ant-man and the Wasp sent Whirlwind to the Big House. When the menace of Graviton and the destruction of the four super-prisons appeared, she enthusiastically embraced her role as an Avenger.
